L.D. Buckingham, Lead Pastor

Leading Atlantic Canada’s largest Church has been both his call and passion for over 40 years. Believing that the church ought to be the most relevant, cutting edge, and happening organization in any city, Pastor Buckingham has led Moncton Wesleyan from a small traditional congregation of less than 100 to a vibrant ministry reaching thousands! He and Mrs. Buckingham look forward to meeting you on your next visit. Be sure and say hello, and you will quickly begin to understand that at Moncton Wesleyan, YOU BELONG!

Tim Guptill, Lead Pastor Elect

Tim and his family are excited to be back to Moncton Wesleyan in his new capacity as Lead Pastor Elect. Tim served on staff at Moncton Wesleyan from 2000-2005. Most recently he served as the Director of Adult Ministries at World HQ of the Wesleyan Church in Indianapolis and then as the Lead Pastor of Crosspoint Church in Fredericton. Tim shares the same passion for changed lives and the local church as Pastor Buckingham and is looking forward to carrying those principles forward for the future. Tim and Gayla have been partners in life and ministry for 21 years. They have two daughters, Hope (16) and Autumn (12) that they are ridiculously proud of.

Joyce Gildart, Executive Assistant – Leadership

Assisting our senior leadership team is her specialty. For more than 25 years now, she has stood with MW and understands this ministry like no one else. Joyce also leads our Senior’s ministry and is involved in several other areas. You can be sure she looks forward to serving you. Joyce and her husband Glenn have three grown children: Joel, Andrew, and Rebecca.

Kimberley Branscombe, Pastor of Children’s Ministry

Kimberley felt the call to children’s ministry in high school and has been teaching kids about Jesus ever since.  She has her Bachelor of Religious Education from Alliance University College, as well as here ECE from Bow Valley College.  Kimberley was a children’s pastor in Calgary and in Saskatoon.  Kim’s husband, Ben, is from Moncton, and they moved here in the fall of 2011.  Since moving here Kimberley felt like Moncton Wesleyan would be a great fit for her, and was thrilled to join the staff in February 2013.

Christina Betts, Children’s Ministry Assistant

Christina was just entertaining the thought of making a career change when God stepped in and presented her with an opportunity to be a part of the amazing team at Moncton Wesleyan, and she could not be happier! Her passion for children and seeing them come to know Christ as their personal Savior is what drives her everyday. Moncton Wesleyan holds a very special place in her heart as this is where she met her wonderful husband Shane. They have 2 beautiful girls, Savannah Grace and Alexa Faith. Christina feels truly blessed to be a part of what is happening here in the Children’s Ministry!

Youth Ministry

Jeff Hughes, Pastor of Youth Ministries

We are excited to welcome Jeff Hughes, who has been a very successful youth pastor at the Wesleyan church in Ottawa, as our Interim Youth Pastor.  

Jeff has a B.A in Cross Cultural Communication, and an M.A in Youth Ministry from Indiana Wesleyan University.  His articles have been published in national magazines and his first published novel was published last year. He currently is the Adjunct Youth Ministry Professor at Kingswood University in Sussex.

Jeff lives in Riverview, with his wife Sarah, and their three children, Shiloh (10), Willow (6) and Mischa (4).

Young Adult Ministries and Missions

Dave Steeves, Pastor of Young Adult Ministries and Missions

Pastor Dave is our former youth pastor of 9 yrs. During the summer of 2009 his role shifted to Pastor of Student Ministries & Missions. Along with making sure youth ministry is at its best, Pastor Dave leads the Young Adult ministry encompassing college/university students and those starting their careers in the ages of 18-26. Mission work as also been a passion of his and this new position has opened up the opportunity to lead the church in both local and global missions. Pastor Dave has three wonderful girls in his life, his wife Cynthia, a local elementary teacher and two daughters.

Lindsay Cann, Youth and Young Adult Ministries’ Assistant

Lindsay is a fun, energetic young lady with the gift of administration. She was working in a Post Office when the opportunity came to her in September 2010 to work at the church she grew up in and loves and she simply could not resist. She is the administrative backbone to Youth Pastor, Jeremy MacDonald’s wild ideas and Mission Pastor, Dave Steeves’ creativity. Together the three of them go full out each day to partner with parents by providing a healthy youth ministry along with many short term mission opportunities. Lindsay has also traveled to NYC, Cambodia & Congo on various mission trips. Lindsay married her high school sweetheart, Mark Cann in August 2011.

Adult Ministries – Connection

Lil Harris, Adult Ministry Director

Lil joined our staff in 1998 & has since served in numerous administrative capacities. She was one of the founding members of Moncton Wesleyan’s Mother’s Club. She holds a BA from Mount Allison & a B Ed from UNB. Lil & her husband John have four children: Joshua, Linsey, Laura, & Jessi. Her greatest goal in life is to see her children serve the Lord “with all their heart, soul, mind, & strength.”

Production and Special Events

Don Ingersoll, Associate Pastor
& Janet Ingersoll, Administrative Assistant

After serving here in the early 80′s, Don and Janet rejoined the team here at MW in 2008 to give leadership to the special events and productions such as the Living Christmas Tree, and to be part of the teaching team. Their 34 years of ministry experience include 9 years at Bethany Bible College in the area of Student Recruitment and Music, 5 years creating the camping ministry at Caton’s Island, and 18 years pastoring the Kings Valley Wesleyan church in Quispamsis. Under their leadership Kings Valley became the largest protestant congregation in the Saint John area and a new 1000 seat worship centre was constructed. They also lead the MW Worship Choir. Their passion is to see the church point people to Jesus Christ in ways they can understand and embrace.


Worship Arts

Jay Muir, Pastor of Worship Arts

Jason joined the staff of MW in June of 2009. He has been passionate about the role of worship and worship leadership in the church since he became a Christian at 16. He has toured through many parts of the U.S. and Canada with local N.B. worship bands, the Jeff Somers Band and Present Reality, and has enjoyed worship leadership roles in churches in Toronto and Vancouver before assuming his current role here at MW. Care Ministry

David Way, Pastor of Care

David has pastored for 30 years and has been involved in doing Bible studies in a federal institution for Native women in Saskatchewan, and has ministered in the Dorchester and Springhill Institutions. He has also taught at the Springhill Institution and spent three years in Zambia where a multi-racial, English-speaking church was firmly established during his ministry. Pastor Way has also had a heart for counselling and supporting ex-offenders and parolees, and overseeing the operation of the Moncton Community Chaplaincy. Presently he serves on the Greater Moncton Steering Committee on Homelessness, and committees for the Peace Centre, Find My Way, and the Mayors Prayer Breakfast.

Paulette Price, Director of Care

Paulette Price joined our staff in 1999 and has served in several capacities on staff and volunteering in many ministries. She and her husband, Stacy, are the proud parents of two young adults; Jeremy and Andrea. As Director of Care, Paulette not only brings her enthusiasm and organizational skills, but an immeasurable love for people. It is her desire for everyone to feel loved and accepted at Moncton Wesleyan.

Finance Administration

Peter Greer, Accounting

While in college Peter dreamed of working in a church, but dismissed it as impossible. The Lord heard that dream however, and Peter became MW’s first staff accountant in 1988. Peter has also been privileged to serve on numerous mission teams and even served as team coordinator in Puebla, Mexico for several months. He and his wife, Julie have two great children, Debbie and David.

Academy

Willie Brownlee, Pastor of Christian Academy

Serving God at MW through administrating our Christian school for over 20 years, his passion is to equip students with the spiritual and academic tools that they will need to fulfill the calling that God has placed on their life. He has a Bachelor of Science in Christian Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries and a Masters of Science in Educational Administration. He is married to Gail and has three children, Abigail, Noah and Rachel.

Facility Rental

Mark Street, Rentals Coordinator

Mark joined the MW staff in November of 2010 and is thrilled to have the responsibility of coordinating events at Moncton Wesleyan Church. Mark along with his wife Sarah are active members of the church and are excited to be part of such a thriving ministry within Atlantic Canada. Mark holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Crandall University and is excited to use his business background to assist you in any of your facility rental requirements.

Kim Beaman, Receptionist

Kim joined our staff at Moncton Wesleyan in June 2010 and always greets everyone with a smiling face and a friendly attitude that will make you feel right at home here at Moncton Wesleyan. She is a multi-talented person who is always willing to support the staff with their ministries while juggling her many duties and maintaining her positive attitude.  Kim has been involved in children’s ministry here at MW for several years and has two wonderful children of her own, Carson and Ava.  Kim and her husband Mark have been coming to Moncton Wesleyan together for many years and feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful church family!
